For new practices, building a body of work begins with that first commission. Once complete, the work that follows is often similar in program or project type. Over time, both emerging and established practices find themselves with an aggregate portfolio of work from which they seek to break away. How can a firm diversify their portfolio and secure different kinds of projects when their portfolio is concentrated on one project type?
