The Center for Architecture is pleased to share that we have been awarded $20,000 in funding from the New York Building Foundation, the charitable arm of the New York Building Congress. The New York Building Foundation was established to promote the long-term growth and well-being of the New York City building industry and the wider community through research, education, and philanthropy. Throughout its history, the Building Foundation has contributed over $2.5 million in grants to non-profits related to the built environment and leverages the talents and resources of all sectors of the industry to benefit New Yorkers and give back to the community.

The Foundation strives to maximize talents, relationships, and partnerships to broaden its reach and strengthen its influence to bolster New York City’s built environment, encourage the development of the next generation of the industry’s workforce, and enhance the diverse communities that make up the city. Its latest funding for the Center for Architecture will support our design education programs, helping to foster learning and discovery across fundamental architecture and design skills and subject areas.

The Building Foundation has historically provided grants to non-profit organizations related to the building industry or focused on the economic betterment of New York City. Among the past recipients are Design Trust for Public Space, Manhattan College, Rebuilding Together NYC, and ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York. Additionally, they have harnessed the resources of the building industry during some of the City’s most devastating periods with the establishment of dedicated funds such as the Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund and the World Trade Center Memorial Fund.

A sincere thank you to the New York Building Foundation for supporting design education and a greater vision for our built environment!
