As the largest chapter of the AIA, with a broad base of members from small, medium and large firms, AIA New York is committed to creating meaningful relationships with architecture programs and schools. For over a decade, AIANY has annually convened a group of educators from architecture schools in the greater New York region for an open dialogue around topics ranging from the pedagogical to the social to explore how students, faculty, and administrators are engaging with the most important issues facing the profession.
AIANY is also committed to supporting the development of a more inclusive and diverse architectural profession. As a professional association, the chapter believes it is critical to support a diverse architectural workforce as they enter the profession and acknowledges that these efforts must begin at the educational level.
Building on previous iterations of this program, the 2022 Deans’ Roundtable will feature the deans and leaders of historically black colleges and university deans to discuss how to promote diversity in and increased access to, architectural education.
