Please join us for the second installment in our series on Craft and Architecture. This series looks at the challenge of reconciling the use of new materials in new conditions with an urgent desire for natural and traditional materials.

Toshiko Mori, FAIA, will present on her innovative approach to materials as both a practitioner and professor. Known for her sensitivity to context, Mori’s work has looked at how material research can impact design methods and modes of production to create architecture that responds to history and setting.

Following her presentation she will be joined by Michael Bell, Chair and Editor, The Columbia Conference on Architecture, Engineering and Materials to discuss how new technologies and traditional materials can intersect to create innovative projects at a variety of scales.
