Every summer, the Center for Architecture hosts its Annual Golf Classic, bringing together golfers from the field of architecture and other related industries to support our K-12 education initiatives. On July 12, more than 100 professionals joined us at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, NY for a wonderful day of golf and networking. Later in the day, AIANY 2022 President Andrea Lamberti, AIA, joined the golfers and additional attendees for dinner and networking.

The event raised over $186,100, including $6,450 in auction items, providing funding for scholarships for students to participate in our design education programs and to help to keep our programs affordable for New York City public schools.

This year, we also welcomed a new partner, the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) and their First Tee program, which increases access to golf for students across the city. Founded in 2001, 76 percent of First Tee participants come from underserved or underrepresented communities. Five young golfers joined us this year, hosted by 1100 Architects, Langan Engineering, LERA Consulting Structural Engineers, and Longman Lindsey: Emily Bui, Leon Bui, Austin Cepeda, Karina Mangru, and Ilan Rivera.

The Golf Classic’s silent auction featured sought-after experiences including foursomes at some of the area’s most beautiful golf courses (Mahopac Golf Club, Hudson National Golf Club, Baltusrol, and, of course, Quaker Ridge). Two items are still available:

  • Two New York Rangers tickets (starting bid $500)
  • A custom golf fitting (starting bid $250)

Please email development@aiany.org with any questions about remaining auction items and to bid!
