Every summer, the Center for Architecture hosts its Annual Golf Classic, bringing together golfers from the architecture, engineering, construction, and real estate communities for a wonderful day of golf and networking. On July 11, more than 100 professionals joined us at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale to take part in the event and support our K-12 education initiatives. AIANY 2023 President Matthew Bremer, AIA, welcomed the golfers and Interim Executive Director Jesse Lazar wished the players well as they embarked upon the green.

The event was a tremendous success and raised over $210,000, providing funding for scholarships for students to participate in our design education programs and to help to keep our programs affordable for New York City public schools.

This year, we again partnered with the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) and their First TEE program. Founded in 2001, 76 percent of First TEE participants come from underserved or underrepresented communities. Six young golfers joined us this year, hosted by 1100 Architects and Longman Lindsey. We were thrilled the junior golfers could join us once again.
