Archtober 2016 is coming!

Archtober 2016 is almost here! The Center for Architecture and 66 partner organizations will be bringing you a jam-packed month of architecture and design activities. From weekend walking tours to lectures and symposia, children’s programs, and exhibitions, Archtober has something for everyone!

We invite you all to help us kick off the festival tomorrow with the opening of “Authenticity and Innovation,” an exhibition that explores preservation and adaptive reuse in New York City. While you’re here, don’t forget to head to the Archtober lounge, this year designed by Pentagram and SOFTlab, to pick up your favorite Building of the Day postcards.

This year, the Center for Architecture is also organizing Pumpkitecture! An Architectural Pumpkin Carving Contest. On 10.28.16, 20 New York City architecture and design firms will compete for the title of the Pritzker Pumpkin. Come see their carved creations and root for your favorite team!

If you don’t know where to start, follow Archtober on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram to learn about what’s coming up! You can also take suggestions from some of the city’s design voices in our Archtober Itineraries. As always, follow blog sponsor The Architect’s Newspaper to see where our daily Building of the Day tours take us.

We hope to see you celebrating New York City’s architecture and design!
