We are proud to announce that, so far in 2018, the Center for Architecture, in conjunction with AIA New York, has awarded a total of $62,500 in scholarships to students studying architecture or related disciplines. Overall the total amount of scholarships and awards distributed by the two organizations in 2018 will more than double from previous years. The two organizations will award up to $253,000, compared to the $99,000 given in 2017, representing a 155% increase in awards in just one year.

The Center for Architecture’s Scholarship Committee met on April 13 to determine the recipients of the Allwork Scholarship and the Center for Architecture Design Scholarship. The Allwork Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for students seeking their first degree in architecture; the Center for Architecture Design Scholarship also includes students studying design, engineering, planning and related disciplines. The jury looked at each student’s academic performance, aesthetic ability, skill, and financial need.

Last year, four students received a $5,000 Allwork Scholarship and two students received a $3,500 Center for Architecture Design Scholarship. This year, each of the five Allwork recipients received an award of $7,500 while five Center for Architecture Design Scholarship recipients received awards of $5,000.
