The return of high‐tech manufacturing to the United States, combined with a paucity of trained professionals in technical and engineering fields, has driven demand for career-specific training. Educational and other civic institutions have begun to reinvent the technical school and adult education facilities.
Panelists from the NYC Department of Education, Brooklyn Navy Yard, and Industry City will explore how these pressures are shaping new and old CTE and adult education facilities. They will discuss how the integration of technology has changed the programming of these spaces, as well as the challenges that have risen in the development of these facilities. Speakers will also determine how a new generation of CTE and adult education programs can benefit underserved communities and students currently not well served by existing educational pathways.
