A construction project is complicated enough, but adding another interested party vastly increases the complexity. When the landlord under a lease is responsible for building out the tenant’s space, the tenant’s rights and obligations have to be taken into account. These considerations are dealt with in the lease document. Having both the landlord’s and tenant’s architects involved in those discussions early on allows for a more smoothly run project in the long run. Join us for a discussion of some of the issues that must be discussed and negotiated between landlord and tenant in this situation.
