The Center for Architecture is thrilled to welcome Anna Martin as Director of Education, following the departure of Lisa Mazzola. Anna Martin has been in education for over 15 years, transitioning from an early career in graphic design. She has taught and developed programming in both formal and informal settings across New York City, working with participants from early childhood through adulthood. Martin’s work has centered on cross-curricular programming with a strong focus on access and creative problem solving. “I’m so excited to bring this focus to AIA New York and the Center for Architecture, developing programs and partnerships that reach new audiences,” said Martin.

Most recently, she was the Manager of Teaching and Learning at the Guggenheim Museum, where she oversaw access programming for students, educator programs, and curriculum and pedagogy across all of the museum’s education initiatives. In addition to her work at the Guggenheim, Martin has collaborated with a diverse range of nonprofits and partners—from small historical sites like the Wyckoff House to large institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She also served as a full-time in-school educator in both elementary and middle schools for seven years.

Martin received a BFA in Visual Communications from George Washington University and an MA in Arts Education from New York University. She is currently an adjunct professor in the Art Education Graduate Program at Queens College.
