On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, the Center for Architecture is participating for the fourth consecutive year in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to generosity and positive change.

With your support, we expanded the reach of our summer programming by 45%, created new programs focused on sustainable green architecture and climate change, increased scholarship support to $83,000, and served a total of 9,500 students, teachers, and parents.

We also launched two high school programs, Design Discovery, a weekend workshop that creates design challenges to allow students to develop tactile skills; and we piloted Discover Architecture, a career exploration program where high school students gained experience and on-site learning at top-level architecture firms during NYC public schools’ winter break. With the overwhelming response we’ve received, the CFA is excited to announce year-round architecture programming for teens in 2020, with monthly Design Discovery workshops focusing on sustainable design taking place this spring.

Make a 100% tax-deductible contribution today. Proceeds raised from #GivingTuesday will help:

  • Increase the number of scholarships we can give to students.
  • Allow us to offer discounted field trips to the Center for Architecture to schools and communities in need.
  • Help us expand our green architecture programs to promote young people’s understanding of climate change and how design can help us create a more sustainable city.
  • Expand our programming to offer year-round architecture programming for teens and provide adequate resources for every student in 2020.
